Tis the season to dig out all those Christmas books. One of my favorites is A Newberry Christmas, a book of short holiday stories by Newberry award-wining authors. I've also read A Christmas Carol and The Polar Express, and I love The Gift of the Magi by O. Henry.

The nightmare before christmas.
And our real seasonal favourite a story my partner wrote called Nazgul's Christmas its a hoot.
Also a tale my brother wrote
"Scrooge never saw the light"
its the opposite side of a Crimbo Carol and very dark.

I love that newberry christmas book! The other day, I downloaded the two adorable christmas stories that I annually read; the twenty-four days before Christmas, and the polar express. I still haven't grown out of them! I also love Holly and Ivy, a story that my mom always read to us every year.

Ah Madeliene L'Engle. How'd I know you'd post about her? Haven't read that book in years. Hmm, should download it.

I usually try and read a Christmas Carol every year, because my Mom used to read it to me each year growing up, so it's sort of become a tradition. This year I found a version on audible read by Jim Dale. He's the guy who reads the Harry Potter books, the North American releases anyway. But if you're a fan of either A Christmas Carol, or Jim Dale's narrations, I'd highly recommend checking it out.

There was a book that I enjoyed as a little kid, which was about a reindeer named Olive, who thought when he heard the Rudolph song on the radio he was supposed to go to the north pole and and be one of the reindeer too. (Get it? All of the other reindeer...translates into "Olive") Anyway, I really enjoyed this story and I haven't heard it in forever, nor do I remember the title. Does anybody else have any clue what Im talking about?

I believe that book was actually called Olive the other reindeer. At least that's what the tv special was called.

My fave christmas tradition is listening to "the Small One" done by Bing Crosby. It's such a cute little tradition.
and I haven't read "The Christmas Carrol" all the way through. Just read the extract that comes with all braille notes as a sample to their book reader. I think I will have to go find Jim Dale's version. thanks! :)
ooooh I'm gettin meself excited bout christmas now! :)
